Fairy tales, hopes & dreams.

In life, I have always been a giver and the love that lies infested within me is way too much. I've been known to suffocate the people I love so as I grew within age, my heart has learnt to be distant from everyone. Apparently now I am too distant, I despise that the people in my past have had that affect on me. I take my past lessons of life and match it up to the future but somehow that doesn't make sense.

Life isn't great for me, but I take my troubles and turn them into something that pushes me further. Lately all I have found myself feeling so alone, I sit in my room alone and watch my own tears gather together in pools on my pillow. All the love I give to other people has never returned to me in a special way. I never ask for a grand gesture of love but it's nice once in a while to get a surprise. I've never received a surprise anything, I feel under appreciated.

I just ask to feel appreciated for the things I do for people because right now under all the layers of me, I feel completely alone.

ASOS Haul #2, way to wake up on a Monday afternoon.

I was woken up by the door bell this morning and received a delivery from ASOS. YOU CAME LATE (but I still love you anyway. Thank you!)

ASOS Metal Bar Detail Envelope Clutch

ASOS Sheer Metallic Trackpants

And I also got a Khaki ASOS Zip Through Hooded Parka.

I just absolutely adore the oversized hood and the pockets of this parka. It's four seasons worthy for a city like Melbourne and I can carry my phone, ipod, wallet all in the pockets so there's really no need for a bag with this jacket.

This envelope clutch was super cute and the colours and texture of the snake skin is really something I love. It was also on sale for $15 and that's why I bought it. It'll come in handy when I have some outings to attend or maybe even a wedding. :)

More hauls. My poor bank account. :(

So as you all know I've recently ordered two packages from ASOS, one last week and one this earlier Monday. The one I ordered last week came in today after some struggle from Australia Post. It's my first purchase from ASOS and yes, I'm quite satisfied with it. Here's what I got.

Everything in the package.

Lovely ASOS packaging.

The watch itself, I am so happy with this purchase!

There's also an extra ring that you can swap over. It's interchangeable. You can either have a shiny finish or a embedded rough finish. It looks as though the finish is covered in diamonds from afar. Battery life is said to last up to 18 months which is lovely!

ASOS blouse with the double collar.

Pieces wet look leggings. I tried this on and literally squealed. I'm so happy with this purchase. It feels great on and the exterior is so soft and smooth, everything slides off my legs.

Here's a list of the products that you can find on ASOS.

  1. ASOS Interchangeable Bezel Boyfriend Watch - Gold / One Size
  2. Pieces Wet Look Leggings
  3. ASOS Blouse With Double Collar

Also, yesterday my best friend and I went to IKEA to explore for just some chill time. We both purchased a wardrobe organiser for $10 and I also purchased a cape hood thing that was meant for a plush dog but my dog is so small it'll fit into it. It was only 99cents so I got that and a vanilla scented candle.

Here's both of our wardrobes.

My Wardrobe.

Kelly's Wardrobe.

We also went to Kmart and I found these babies. I finally got the chance to purchase them for cheaper. Christian Grey just reminds me of Harvey Spector and it makes me so happy because I love Suits!

Headed back to the city, instead of visiting my boyfriend who works at 345 Restaurant * on Victoria Street, Richmond. He wasn't at work so we just went to the Face Shop and I updated my pastel coloured collection of nail polishes. How beautiful are they? :')

Today, I also went to give Cindy her birthday present and she gave me one too. What a darling! Now I have a travel sized hair straightener for those moments where hair does not want to behave. Thank you beautiful <3

That's all for now I guess, I'll update when the next ASOS package arrives. It's been delayed. So much for three day express postage. :(

*If you like 345 Restaurant's page, you can receive a 30% off your bill. This offer is only valid until the 31st of July, 2012. Also it allows for you to keep up to date with offers and freebies that they might be giving away. I advise that you check it out and give it a try :)

Hanging out with Mary x 2

Okay, so I know I've been a little slack at updating my blog this week, but post celebrations of birthdays always take me a week to recover because I'm still in a slight daze. Ask me about how I feel about it, a month later and I'll let you know.

Wednesday, I spent time with Mary and we caught up on life and I helped her with methods work. (Lord help us all, I'm terrible at Maths.) Somehow I still managed to remember work from over a year ago. After she cooked me some food, we sat down for an hour or so and did some fair work. Took out the camera for a run and we did some photos, after some crazy man was swearing to himself and following us. Creeps.

Here's some photos that I took of the beautiful young lady.

Isn't she just so naturally beautiful? I'm jealous girl! I had a lovely time with her, like I always do. I can see we have lots of occasions we are going to spend together and a very special summer planned to take a summer photo shoot.

Thank you so much for spending time with me and inviting me over Mary :)

Mary, it's your birthday!

Well, it's been one crazy week for me, and yes I've turned a year older. *sobs* But that's okay, I have an entire life ahead of me and some very hectic schedules and goals that I still need to fulfil. I really hope that I don't turn into one of those adults who regret not having "lived" their lives.

I didn't do much celebrating on my birthday, just had a few friends over for some classy drinks, because cheap champagne is the way to go. lols We went to venture to the new pool hang out down the road from my house, it's beautiful and really good to hang out at. It's a little pricey for one hour though, $16. But I guess it will have to do. I'm not that great at pool either. We made a strawberry Pocky cake, (idea thanks to Sprinkle Bakes) and had Honeysoy and BBQ chicken wings, and baked potatoes for dinner. The baked potatoes were absolutely delicious, and they smell so good too.

The girls got me a shower product gift from Lush, that I've yet to try out. To be honest, I always thought Lush was a candy store, because their soaps looked so much like molten candy. lols but they smell really refreshing.

We spent the rest of the night playing games and just catching up properly. I think we grew so much closer on my birthday because we had all graduated high school where drama lays its eggs and now in the real world where other life problems that we ever heard about are so much more surreal. I learnt to respect and cherish my close friends so much more during this time. Truly blessed to have friends that I rarely see but when I do, it's like things have never changed.

Here's to being one year older, wiser but still youthful at heart.

Good News!

I received my second recommendation this semester to do my honours in three years time. I've been obtaining really good scores for my work throughout the semester, ranging from minimum distinction to high distinction and I guess my tutors and lecturers want to acknowledge my hard work. It's very surprising to receive a letter of congratulatory from very experienced people telling me my work is impressive.

The letter and me being extremely excited. Look at that extremely giddy face!

Here's today's outfit. OOTD. I just recently ordered a package from ASOS and it was dispatched this morning, so they're telling me it'll be in my hands by next Friday. YIPEE! I'm so excited for it. I can finally get a new watch. I'll take some photos of what I got when the package arrives. Also, V ordered some things for me on eBay so I'm still waiting for those to come through.

In other news, I redecorated my room. Here's what half of it looks like! I've become a minimalist. :D

I really want to get new furniture so it's all black and white. I have this new addiction to colour coordinate my room now. If anyone has some good crafty blogs or fashion blogs, link me? <3

Yesterday, I whipped up my favourite meal for the entire family. Marinated BBQ Beef, steamed veggies, rice and mashed potato with parsley. MMMM!

I also painted my nails.

Yeah, my bedsheets are leopard print. LOL H said it's too kinky for her.

Spoiling myself for my birthday instead of celebrating.

I went to the burial of my uncle today, and once again tried to keep my tears in but I have this crazy tendency to cry whenever I see someone else crying. Ah, it was a cold and depressing day. I got through it but rest in heavenly peace my dearest uncle, our family is always and will be thinking of you. <3

--------------------------------------------------------------------

On a lighter note though, I went on a spontaneous shopping trip only looking for a desk lamp and perhaps some furniture. Instead I found my way into the clothing section...sadness.

Well here's what I brought home with me. I also stopped at Tokuya to get some baking utensils and Kmart to purchase make up remover.

Temt Black Velvet Dress originally $24.95, I got for $15.
Leopard Patterned (comes in a set with a black suede also) Belt $9.95
Cotton On Black Lace Cardigan originally $24.95, I purchased for $5.

Lovisa Jewellery, altogether $10.

I love these earrings! It's so beautiful.

Anyway, I'm going to go and redecorate my room, I know what I want to do with my walls now and I'll just bake a surprise cupcake later on for the boyfriend :) Let's hope he doesn't read this but if he does, I miss you babe.

Amongst all the sadness, lies a pathway leading to happiness.

Before the funeral yesterday, C and I spent some quality time together and we pigged out at Hungry Jacks whilst annoying Steven. Poor C was stressed all night. (Photo above is from Instagram: @ohmaryme)

I was stripped of my macbook last night for my dearest boyfriend to complete some university assignments and so I spent the night watching episodes of PPL and Suits. (If you haven't already been hooked on Suits, I suggest you take a dosage of it.)

I woke up and made myself some Shin Ramen with a handful of last night's Bun Rieu's prepared veggies and sat in the kitchen devouring breakfast, the asian way. Some family friends came over and we caught up whilst I listened to mother rambling on about sins and heaven. Preacher.

Got bored so I decided to paint my nails. I have very unsteady hands so it turned out a little ugly :(

I've decided I want to re-decorate my room so I'm saving up for some new furniture. I want an all white vintagey styled room. Gah, it's going to be a hard transition but it'll happen.

Farewells and Forever Goodbyes: those memories.

Hearing your father say his goodbye speech to your uncle and hearing his voice slowly sink has to be the most painful thing. My father called my uncle up in Germany and read his funeral speech. It began like this:

'Brother dearest, there's not long left, tomorrow we will part far from each other but before we say our goodbyes, your brothers and sisters, your family, your grandchildren and relatives have come together to acknowledge your wonders and the marks that you have left in our hearts and lives...'

It was clearly so much more painful when I heard it in Vietnamese and for the first time in the past eighteen years of my life seen my father's heart ache like a war zone. Both my uncle and father cried to each other; two old brothers sharing their pain and only hearing one side of the conversation made my hands tremble as tears rolled down my cheeks.

Uncle dearest, you are an inspiration, a living role model of peace and I wish I could be just like you. So humble in action, and with each step you take you leave no scarring mark.Thank you for sharing pain and many great memories with us. Thank you for welcoming me into your family like your own grandchildren. May you rest in paradise and your legacy continue to pass on. I've never been good with goodbyes, so I'll see you soon.

Bento to KBBQ and bargains.

I spent some time with Kelly and Van today, I haven't seen them both together for quite a while now and I really missed them. It was good to be able to walk together and laugh and say stupid things like we used to. It's like we've all grown up and slowly drifting in distance but all our memories and fun times return when we're together. Kelly says she misses being loud and a little strange because studying at MU, everyone is so serious and stern. I guess V and I are just very fun people :)

We visited a cooking supply store because we walked past it and I saw teapots and wanted to go inside. I've been meaning to get a teapot with a woolen cosy for it. I saw these colour schemes and was just wailing to myself. How gorgeous are these pastel potteries? It's beautiful!

We headed down to Myer to do a little bit of shopping and then off to Aijisen on Bourke Street for lunch. K ordered Beef Bento and I got Chicken Bento. It came with mayo sauce and I just died. Best and most fulfilling lunch I had in a long time.

Beef Bento - Aijisen (Bourke Street)

Chicken Bento - Aijisen (Bourke Street)

We took the tram to DFO South Wharf and did a little shopping. I caught a few bargains. I was waiting to purchase these boots from Novo for $40 and I finally got them. I also got a pair of wedge ankle boots from Windsor Smith for $15 and this "Your Life" book for $5. Then my boyfriend meet up with us, the poor bugger was so hungry he was grumpy. Typical boy. Headed back to Melbourne Central and walked past the cupcake store and I took some photos of them and macarons. K meet up with her boyfriend and we went to have some KBBQ at Seoul House. To be honest with you, although it was cheaper than the KBBQ in China town, the service was shit and unhygienic. Side dishes looked okay so I took photos of it. Customer service was so bad, the waiters coughed in our food and then spread raw meat in cooked meat and they couldn't even speak English properly so we spent a good ten minutes asking ONE question, about the food before ordering.

Seoul House's side dishes.

The meat on le barbecue.

Windsor Smith's Wedge Ankle boots.

Macarons.

Special Designed Cupcakes. TOTORO!

These were from Novo for $40. It's from their "Stomp" Collection.

This is the book that I bought for $5.

And now, here are some really strange photos of my boyfriend and I before our day ended together. This is the most normal you will ever find him, unfortunately. ;) He's a bit of a quirk but has a huge heart and I most adore him for who he is.
