VAMPIRE LIPS

I've been trying out this new look and a trend that's been following in Asia at the moment that's called 'Gradient Lips'  which essentially is just two colours of lipsticks applied and blended together. So I tried it out with red and purple to get this plum colour on my lips. The first person who saw me with the lip colour was my mother and she had asked what kind of hideous colour it was.

I got straight to work and received so many compliments about the lipstick colour and lots were asking where I had obtained it. The products that I used can be purchased at any drug store or retail outlet like Priceline.

First swatch is Enchanted by Sportsgirl. This one kind of failed me when I went looking for a purple shade, I was hoping it'd turn out a little darker but I think this one could come into good use with a baby pink and purple gradient lip combination.

Second swatch is 645 Red Rival by Maybelline New York. This is the red that I used and applied before doing anything. This red is one of the darker shade that I've found. It's a rich and royal red that naturally suits my skin tone better, and it is not as orange in tone.

Third swatch colour is a purple by Rimmel London called Rouge A Levres in the Kate Collection. This one was one of the better shades of purple that I was opting for. It's a gothic dark purple that matches really well with the next swatch I'm going to talk about. So after applying the red coat, I apply this shade around the edges of my lips and the fuller half of my bottom lip.

Fourth swatch is actually a eye lining pencil because I could not find any lip liners in purple. This one is  called Eye Definer by Face of Australia in purple. Now it's not necessary to use a liner if you've got very defined lips, but unfortunately for me, my lips aren't exactly fully defined so I used this lip liner to make out a nicer and sharper shape of my lips. This liner is very easy to apply and with the help of concealer around my lips, it makes a very nice defined shape.

The vampy look seems to be a more recent trend, although I don't quite suit the purple look, this gradient allows for me to be able to wear purple without look like an ultimate goth. ;)
